of the Triple Moons (The Mountain King #1)I think this book would fall into the young adult genre which is something I don't typically read, but I thought the pacing and adventure theme would really translate well for those readers. I read very little Young Adult books so I didn't know what to expect. I like the idea of the story and Kenneth does a wonderful job of heaping trials and tribulations on our band of heroes: Erik, Al, Sherry, and occasionally Zita.
Erik, Al, Sherry, and Lily are teenagers in Montana. The new kid in town asks Lily to prom, although Erik had a grand plan to do so. Then, the kid suggests they play a large scale game of Dungeons and Dragons. The teens agree and are led to a cave where the kid takes Lily through a portal. Erik, Al, and Sherry cautiously follow and find themselves in a new world, Aloheno. Here they discover the kid is actually Kestrel, the Falcon Prince. He took Lily to the Mountain King to be part of a ritual during the eclipse of three moons.
Our teen heroes meet Zita, and other characters. Some helpful, some not. In the end, there's a big battle. There are lots of
characters doing various things in this battle. At times, it seemed a great place for the villain to attack when the heroes guard is down, but that didn't happen. It could have been woven together a little better to keep the intensity.
I hope you enjoy reading this story.
